What is King’s Day?
Koningsdag or King’s Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Celebrated on 27 April (26 April if the 27th is a Sunday), the date marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander. From 1949 to 2013 the day was known as Koninginnedag or Queen’s Day and was celebrated April 30th. You can read more about the history on wikipedia.
How much does King’s Day cost and where do I buy tickets?
Adult (21+) entry price is $10, youth (5-20yrs) $5, and children under 5 are free. Your admission includes games, face painting, and entertainment. Concessions are available for an additional cost. You can purchase tickets online or at the door at an increased price; we recommend that you buy your tickets in advance to speed things up at the door. Online ticket sales will be available soon.
Are King’s Day tickets refundable?
No refunds will be given for unused entry or concessions tickets.

What is the Vrijmarkt (Dutch Flea Market)?
The only day of the year on which you are allowed to sell goods on the street in Holland without a permit is on King’s Day. Thus, on this day the Netherlands transforms into one big flea market.You can read more about it here. At our flea market, children are invited to set out a blanket and sell their goods.
Are animals and/or smoking allowed at King’s Day?
No pets are allowed unless they are registered service animals and please, no smoking.
Who benefits from this fundraiser?
Proceeds from this event will be donated to Seattle Children’s Hospital, more specifically to the Child Life Department. Clothing and other unsold items from our consignment tables will be donated to thrift shops operated by the hospital.
Who is the Hansje Brinker Guild?
The Hansje Brinker Guild was founded by a group of women with a Dutch background living in the Seattle area and is part of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild Association.
